Angelika wreck

Angelika wreck

Insights

This dive does not exceed 18 meters, and it got all the charm that each wreck got. In fact the Angelika Wreck is undoubtedly one of the most popular diving point we got. Built in 1967 and owned by a Greek company, it transported more than 4000t of potassium chloride from Barcelona to Marghera, when on September 26th 1982 it stumbled on the rocks of the Marmorata, near S.Teresa diGallura, the crew did not suffer losses and it was thought of a quick disengagement, but it was not so, not even the tugboats succeeded ... It was so that in the following months the reclamation of the pollutants present on the wreck began and a few months later, after a sea storm, the wreck broke and one part sank.
Today the wreck shows up with the unrecognizable bow fragments of sheet metal are scattered here and there the stern area is placed on the left side with the bollards in their place. In good condition the stern castle is the external staircase leading to the upper deck and from the portholes you can see the inside.

The plays of light offered are always very suggestive, but the sheets are now colonized by sponges and algae and offer shelter also groups of bream, salpe and chestnut.
